Well things are about to change. Independent Hotels has been formed by a group of independent hoteliers to work with wholesalers and third party intermediaries to provide an improved and more efficient distribution system. One that will place the independent property on the same footing as the larger chains who have multiple properties.
So welcome to the future of distribution for independent hotels. Our aim is to:
- Provide a common contract that the Principal (Hotel) will provide to the Agent (Wholesaler)
- Assist in working with the wholesaler to develop the contract that will cover all points required for all parties.
- Assist in working with the wholesaler to enable the dynamic distribution of rates and inventory to the wholesaler.
- Implement pooled inventory distribution to wholesalers and other third party providers so as to do away with the return of unsold rooms at the last minute prior to arrival.
- Provide a group approach to the contract delivery to the wholesaler so as to save their time and effort.
The independent hotels will not be involved in:
- Setting of rates or commissions between the property and the wholesalers

Setting of inventory levels between the property and the wholesaler
as these will remain the sole domain of negotiation between the property and the wholesaler.
